  • What is Higher Education? Higher Education is any nationally recognised qualification which is at Level 4 or above and is for students aged 18 or older. (A Levels, BTEC Diploma and Extended Diploma, Apprenticeships are Level 3. A degree starts at Level 4 and progresses to Level 6, in the third year.) There are lots of different types of higher education level courses available at both universities and colleges which includes Degrees, Foundation Degrees, Apprenticeships (of which there are several levels), HND's & HNC's or an Access to Higher Education Diploma.
