  • Apprenticeships Apprenticeships are a way of studying for a qualification whilst being paid. They are available at all levels including the new government initiative of Degree Apprenticeships where you will achieve a degree upon completion. "Earn whilst you learn".
  • Foundation Degrees (Video) Foundation Degrees are a great alternative to obtaining an University education if a student isn't ready for a full degree. Foundation degrees focus on a particular job or profession and have no set entry requirements to get a place. They take 2 years to complete and at the end of this, you can "top up" your Foundation Degree to a full Honours degree with another year of study. All eight WON partners offer Foundation Degree programmes.
  • HNC's & HND's Higher National Certificates (HNCs) and Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) are work-related qualifications which are available in a wide range of subjects. While degrees tend to focus on gaining knowledge, HNCs and HNDs are designed to give you the skills to put that knowledge to effective use in a particular job. They are highly valued by employers and can also count towards membership of professional bodies and other employer organisations. All eight WON partners offer HNC's and HND's.
  • Access to Higher Education Diploma (Video) The Access to Higher Education (HE) Diploma prepares students for higher education level study.
  • Traineeships raineeships are ideal for young people who are motivated to get a job but who lack the skills and experience that employers are looking for. Traineeships can prepare you for your future career, helping you get ready for the world of work and improving your chances of getting an Apprenticeship or other job.
  • Careersnearhere Careersnearhere is a central resource to find out opportunities available to young people in the Bristol and Bath area, from local career options to events and talks, work experience and local apprenticeships.
  • Not Going to Uni This website gives information about the wide range of non-university options all in one place. This includes Apprenticeships and a range of work related learning schemes provide opportunities for young people to enhance their technical, personal and employability skills through industry-led projects, industrial placements and specialised taster courses.
  • Studential Studential provide helpful advice about all Further and Higher Education routes available to young people, including Gap Years, Enterprise and Apprenticeships
